The 14 Days of Summer was a summer-themed Battle Royale and Save the World Event introduced with the 9.30 Content Update. It lasted for a total of 20 days (June 25th - July 15th, 2019).
Over 14 days of the event, new and old LTMs would rotate in and out every day at 9AM EST (1200 UDT). These can be either big or small team modes, or modes with unique rules such as Leave None Behind or Heavy Metal.
During the first 14 days of the event, new challenges will be available everyday at 9AM EST (1200 UDT) - completing that challenge will get you a free cosmetic. All reward items that can be earned stay and do not expire. A backpack will also be unlocked for completing all 14 challenges.

Additionally in every one of the first 14 days of the event, one item or weapon would be taken out of the vault for 24 hours starting form 9AM EST (1200 UDT) but that item will be put back in the vault the following day at that time again.
New summer-themed items will also roll out in the item shop everyday of the event. Every item that came out during it also appeared in the item shop during the last few days of it.

Epic Games likes to give its playerbase some incentives to look forward to in their game and the 14 Days of Summer challenges do just that, encouraging them to explore different locations across their ever-changing battle royale map.
Fortnite 9.30 Update Patch Notes
Not all of the challenges have been officially revealed by the developer, as of the time of writing, and they’re being added to the game each day. However, the more challenges that have been released, the more accurate Lucas7yoshi‘s list is starting to look.
With a variety of emotes, sprays, loading screens, and even a banana smoothie from the season trailer is up for grabs, players have a lot of prizes to claim if they can complete all of the challenges before the event comes to an end.

The Epic Games team might be having a break for the 14 Days of Summer event, but players will be hard at work to complete the challenges.
Fortnite’s 14 Days of Summer event kicked off on June 25 and is set to run right through until July 9, with the final challenge being set live on July 8. Hopefully, at that stage, many players will have reaped the rewards – using our guides – and picked up a lot of XP along the way.
Epic Games launched the event to give their development team a long-awaited break for summer, just like they did with 14 Days of Fortnite in the winter, and will be unvaulting a different weapon or item every day until it comes to a close.
