Maya shared the amazing news on her Instagram this morning, revealing she has kept it quiet after leaving her job as BBC Radio 1 presenter on Friday and Saturday mornings.

In a heartfelt post, Maya wrote: If I'm honest I've not felt like myself recently with everything that's going on in the world and it's been hard to think of anything else, but trust me I am having those conversations behind the scenes about what we can do in TV and production to make a permanent change towards ending racism.
